The activity described in this blog is one of the activities planned in the European project Erasmus +, Action KA2,
Teaching with Robots.
Presented and approved in 2014, started in 2015, it lasts two years, and this teaching activity takes place in the second year. Three partners schools are engaged: I.T.I.S. Zuccante at Venice (Italy), Siauliu Stasio Salkauskio Gimnazija at Siauliai (Lithuania) and IES Vega de San Mateo at Canarias (Spain). The main objects of the project are the enhancement of the motivation and participation of the students, the reduction of the school dropout, the innovation to the teaching methodologies and the enhancement of the students’ attitude toward scientific subjects.
We decided that the key to obtain these goals should be the introduction of Robotics in our curriculum, using the LEGO Mindstorms EVO kits.
In the first year, all the partners introduced Robotics in their schools using the standard LEGO platform in local courses 25 hours long. In this second year, the partners will introduce the EV3Basic as text based programming language. This blog is the web space devoted by the Italian teachers to this advanced course.
